Position:
The Recruiter is responsible for acquiring talent. They are responsible for sourcing, screening, scheduling and facilitating meaningful interviews, ensuring candidates are a good fit for the company. In addition, they will be expected to follow up with newly hired employees to ensure optimal onboarding and retention. The Recruiter will collaborate with hiring managers on a regular basis and proactively identify and act on hiring needs in real time. Attract candidates using various sources, like Indeed recruitment websites, organizations, social media networks and employee referrals.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement an overall robust recruitment strategy.
- Recruitment across all company locations.
- Develop, standardize and update job descriptions and job specifications.
- Perform job and task analysis to document job requirements and objectives.
- Prepare recruitment materials and post jobs to appropriate job board/newspapers/trade schools/colleges etc.
- Determine and implement creative strategies to recruit candidates outside of the online job boards.
- Source and recruit candidates by using databases, social media etc.
- Screen candidates resumes and job applications for multiple locations.
- Conduct pre-screening phone or video interviews to filter best candidates.
- Schedule interviews with hiring managers.
- Assess applicants’ relevant knowledge, skills, soft skills, experience and aptitudes.
- Create and adapt critical interview questions to strategically reveal candidates’ dispositions and behaviors.
- Work with the HR Generalists to set up pre-employment physical/essential functions exam, criminal background check, and drug screening.
- Onboard new employees to fully integrate in the Metalico culture.
- Use PowerPoint onboarding presentation to highlight important HR and Company information.
- Monitor and apply HR recruiting best practices.
- Retention - Set a structured follow up plan with new hires post 30/60/90 days.
- Understand and abide by DOT hiring requirements per DOT laws/regulations.
- Provide analytical and well documented recruiting reports to the management team on a weekly basis.
- Act as a point of contact and build influential candidate relationships during the selection process.
- Promote company’s reputation as “best place to work”.
- Schedule a quarterly meeting with management to understand current staffing needs.
- Performs other duties as assigned by management (i.e. scale operations, filing, etc.)
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 4:00 pm, additional hours if required based on business needs.
