COMPANY: Buffalo Shredding & Recovery
JOB TITLE: Diesel Mechanic
JOB TYPE: Full-time, non-exempt
LOCATION: 3175 Lake Shore Rd. Buffalo NY, 14219
REPORTS TO: Operations Manager
HOURS: Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, or 2:00PM - 10:30PM
COMPENSATION: $21-29/hour, based on experience and skills.

Purpose: The purpose of the Diesel Mechanic is to service and repair on-road and off-road heavy equipment.

Responsibilities:

Perform basic preventative maintenance on all diesel vehicles, and heavy equipment such as material handlers, loaders, excavators, forklifts, etc.
Troubleshoot and repair all types of diesel engine machines.
Diagnose and repair heavy machinery (excavators, forklifts, skid steers).
Repair, replace, recondition, disassemble, weld, and examine parts and engines.
Maintain inventory of tools and supplies.
Perform any and all other duties as assigned by the supervisor/manager.
Comply with all company safety measures and government regulations.
Communicate with drivers and customers with a professional attitude.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of two (2) years diesel mechanic experience.
A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is a plus.
Ability to lift and move heavy objects (over 50 pounds).
Squat and kneel.
Bend and twist as appropriate.
Sit/Stand for long periods at a time.
